The Snapdragon X Elite features a custom integrated Qualcomm Oryon CPU, providing peak performance with just one-third of the power. In addition to its raw performance, the platform showcases Qualcomm’s dedication to artificial intelligence (AI), capable of executing generative AI models with over 13 billion parameters on-device, marking an impressive 4.5 times faster AI processing power than competitors. Anticipated to redefine premium computing, it promises multiple days of battery life and high performance on demand.

Pavan Davaluri, Corporate Vice President, Windows and Devices at Microsoft, highlights the partnership between Microsoft and Qualcomm Technologies, emphasizing momentum built on a shared commitment to AI experiences. The Snapdragon X Elite houses a best-in-class 12-core Qualcomm Oryon CPU, a leading-edge Qualcomm AI Engine, and an integrated Qualcomm Hexagon Neural Processing Unit (NPU), optimized for demanding workloads and power efficiency. The platform also ensures exceptional graphics and security, featuring the premium integrated Qualcomm Adreno GPU and Qualcomm Sensing Hub respectively.

Connectivity is equally impressive, with lightning-fast 5G and Wi-Fi 7 capabilities, as well as an immersive audio experience through the Snapdragon Sound Technology Suite. Looking ahead to 2024, the Snapdragon X Elite is poised to potentially change the landscape for Windows on ARM. As Apple completes its transition to ARM with macOS, the disappointing performance of Windows 11 on ARM has deterred consumers from ARM-powered Windows laptops.

However, the Snapdragon X Elite could pave the way for a shift in this trend.
