Microsoft has announced the end of support for various editions of Windows 10. The consumer editions have already stopped receiving support as of June 2023. For Enterprise, Education, and IoT editions of Windows 10 version 21H2, the end of support date is June 11, 2024.

However, Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 will continue to receive support until January 12, 2027. After June 11, 2024, devices running the specified editions will no longer receive monthly security and preview updates. Unmanaged systems will automatically update to Windows 10 version 22H2, the final version of the operating system, while managed systems will require manual updating.

Microsoft recommends administrators to update managed systems to Windows 10 version 22H2 or to Windows 11 if possible. Microsoft has implemented Extended Security Updates (ESU), a subscription-based program, for organizations needing continued security updates. The price for ESU doubles each year and organizations pay $427 for three years of extended security updates per machine.

This subscription only includes security updates and does not cover feature updates.
