The latest version of the popular home theater software, Kodi, has introduced a range of new features and enhancements. Since the release of Kodi 20 ‘Nexus’ on January 15, 2023, the Kodi Foundation has reported over 3,750 commits.
This includes upgrades to make use of newer FFmpeg releases over the past 15 months, initially targeting FFmpeg 5 and later updating to FFmpeg 6. A significant effort has been made by numerous developers to modernize the project, culminating in the removal of the last remnants of SDL library usage in Kodi.
